The Construction Personnel Executives Group was formed in November of 1976 to provide Human Resource professionals with a forum from which they could discuss items pertinent to the construction industry. Since its beginning, the Group has maintained an “informal” structure, quite different than other organizations of its type in the Country today. This informality provides its members with an excellent means by which the ever-changing human resource concerns of the construction industry can be met.

Meetings are scheduled twice a year with agendas consisting of current trends in human resource policies and procedures as well as specific problems unique to construction. Outside professionals and representatives from member companies are called upon to address the specific topics for each meeting. In addition, an appropriate amount of time is allocated for “round-table” discussions.

In 2000 the Group voted to change the name of the organization to CPEG. In 2022 it was agreed this acronym should stand for Construction People Executives Group. Today, the Group is comprised of over 40 contracting firms throughout the United States. These members are committed to strengthening the role of the construction Human Resources Executive through the sharing of information and ideas for the benefit of all in the industry.
